Trump-Nawrocki Meeting Possible, Polish Official Says

A spokesperson for Polish President Karol Nawrocki indicated a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump is possible, with details forthcoming, during a Wirtualna Polska interview.

Nawrocki-Trump Meeting Discussed

President Karol Nawrocki’s spokesperson, Rafał Leśkiewicz, discussed a potential meeting between Nawrocki and U.S. President Donald Trump during an appearance on Wirtualna Polska’s “Tłit” program on March 18th. He stated that a meeting was not ruled out.

Leśkiewicz did not disclose specifics regarding the potential meeting but assured that further information would be released “soon.” He also noted that President Trump is not expected to visit Poland in the “near future.”

Planned Visit and Previous Meetings

Despite no immediate travel plans, a visit from President Trump to Poland remains under consideration. President Nawrocki extended an invitation during their first meeting on September 3, 2025, which was reportedly well-received.

History of Engagement

Nawrocki and Trump have met three times. Their first official meeting occurred in the White House on September 3, 2025, focusing on military, energy, and economic cooperation, including expanding the U.S. military presence in Poland. Nawrocki was subsequently invited to the G20 summit in Miami.

The leaders also held telephone conversations and met at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January. Discussions centered on security, the G20, and the Council for Peace. A prior meeting took place during Nawrocki’s election campaign in May 2025.

Criticism of Nawrocki’s Policies

Roman Imielski of Wyborcza.pl criticized President Nawrocki’s veto of legislation aimed at combating online hate speech, disinformation, and cybercrime, arguing it demonstrates a prioritization of U.S. interests over Poland’s.
