Trump Shares Image with Jesus, Criticizes “Radical Left”

Former U.S. President Donald Trump posted an image depicting himself with Jesus, prompting criticism and following a recent attack on Pope Francis.

Trump’s Latest Religious Graphic

President Trump published a graphic showing himself standing with supporters, alongside an image of Jesus embracing him. Accompanying text suggests that in the face of “demonic, child-sacrificing monsters,” God may be “playing his Trump card.”

Trump commented on the image, stating, “The radical left crazies won’t like this, but I think it’s quite nice,” on his Truth Social platform.

Previous Religious Imagery

This is not the first instance of Trump using religious imagery in his communications. He previously shared a graphic portraying himself as Jesus healing a sick person, depicted in white robes and a red cloak with radiant beams emanating from his hand.

The background of that image included American symbols, soldiers, and religious motifs.

Sharp Criticism of Pope Francis

The new post appeared shortly after Trump leveled harsh criticism at Pope Francis. He accused the head of the Catholic Church of being “weak on crime” and “terrible on foreign policy.”

Trump also stated he did not want a Pope who “thinks it’s okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons” and criticized U.S. policies.

Allegations and Demands

Trump went further, claiming Pope Francis was elected because he was American and that without him, Francis “wouldn’t be in the Vatican.” He concluded by urging the Pope to “toughen up,” stop yielding to the radical left, and focus on being a “great Pope, not a politician.”

Escalating Conflict with the Church

The publication of the new graphic has intensified the dispute surrounding Trump’s relationship with the Church. Commentators and conservative circles had previously noted that associating his political image with Jesus could be seen as blasphemous or a cynical manipulation of religion for political mobilization.

Pope Francis’ Response

The conflict appears largely one-sided. Pope Francis responded to Trump’s criticism on April 13th, stating he wasn’t afraid of the Trump administration or proclaiming the Gospel, as that was his purpose. He added he didn’t want to engage in a discussion with Trump.

The conflict stems in part from Pope Francis’ calls for peace in Iran and critical comments regarding the logic of war, which some media interpreted as an allusion to the situation in the United States.
