Trump Spokesperson: President Extremely Frustrated with Ukraine and Russia, Wants War Over

On December 11, Trump’s White House spokesperson announced that President Trump is weary of talks with Russia and Ukraine and seeks decisive action to end the conflict.

Trump Exhausted by Kyiv‑Russia Talks

President Trump, according to a White House spokesperson, has grown tired of back‑and‑forth conversations with Ukrainian and Russian leaders and now wants concrete moves rather than further discussion.

Zelensky Relays Adjusted US Peace Plan

On Thursday, December 11, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy told reporters in Kyiv that Ukraine has provided the United States with an updated peace proposal. He described the talks as “deep and constructive,” though he noted many US‑offered issues still need refinement, particularly territorial matters that remain unresolved.

White House Urges Action Over Dialogue

White House spokesperson Karine Leavitt said Trump has spent over 30 hours in recent weeks in meetings with Russians, Ukrainians, and Europeans, and he is now demanding action. She added that U.S. negotiators, including Steve Witkoff, will continue communication if a realistic chance emerges for a peace agreement.

Negotiation Demands and Future Steps

Zelenski explained that the American “compromise vision” calls for Ukrainian forces to withdraw from the entirety of Donetsk oblast, with Russian troops staying out. Kyiv wants its troops to remain at the current front lines in Donbas, as well as Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. Following a five to ten‑kilometer withdrawal, the area would become a demilitarized zone. Ultimately, the fate of Ukrainian territories should be decided by the Ukrainian people in elections or a referendum, the president added.
