President Trump claims Israel wouldn’t exist without him, stating he and Netanyahu will jointly decide when to end the war with Iran.
Trump’s Assertions on Israel’s Survival
President Trump stated that Iran intended to destroy Israel and its surroundings, emphasizing, “There would be no Israel if I didn’t exist.” He added that without Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israel would not exist today.
Asked if he would decide alone on ending the war with Iran, Trump replied it was a “joint decision” with Netanyahu, indicating he would make a choice at the right time, considering all factors.
Regarding whether Israel could continue the war after US strikes, Trump said he did not think it was necessary.
Israel Announces New Airstrikes
The Israeli military announced early Monday it had launched a new wave of airstrikes on targets in central Iran. It also reported striking Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut, Lebanon’s capital.
The Israeli forces stated the new strikes aim at “infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime.” They also confirmed “striking infrastructure belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah in Beirut.” An AFP agency reported explosions and smoke on Beirut’s southern outskirts.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported at least 100 people killed and 100 injured in Israeli attacks on Sunday, including a medic. Since February 28, Israel and the US have conducted airstrikes on Iran, prompting Iranian counterattacks on US bases and regional energy infrastructure.
