Trump Urges Ukraine to Accelerate Peace Talks, Warns Russia Will Shift If Delays Continue

In an Oval Office interview, President Donald Trump pressed Ukraine to expedite a peace plan ending its war with Russia, warning that prolonged hesitation would prompt a change in Russia’s stance.

Trump Urges Ukraine to Speed Up Negotiations

President Donald Trump called on Ukraine to move quickly toward a peace plan to end the war with Russia, saying that delays could cause Russia to alter its position.

He noted that the war’s conclusion is difficult because of deep “enmity and hatred” between the parties, but added that there is a chance to resolve it, “maybe soon.”

Trump reminded that 25–30 thousand young people are killed in Ukraine each month.

Kremlin Envoy Sets Up Miami Meeting with U.S. Delegation

France24 reported that a Kremlin envoy will arrive in the United States next weekend to discuss the U.S.-proposed plan to end the war in Ukraine.

Washington officials said Kiryyl Dmitriev, head of a Russian state fund, will meet in Miami on Saturday with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Earlier this week, Witkoff and Kushner held lengthy talks in Berlin with Ukrainian and European officials about security guarantees, possible territorial concessions, and Ukraine’s future status. Washington has intensified pressure on Kyiv to agree to concessions that could lead to a conflict end.

Zelenski Arrives in Poland for High‑Level Talks

President Volodymyr Zelenski landed in Poland on Thursday evening and is scheduled to meet President Karol Nawrocki and likely Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

A formal welcome will occur at 10:00 in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace, followed by a 45‑minute “four‑eyes” meeting between Zelenski and Nawrocki.

Plenary talks of the delegations will begin at 11:00 under the presidents’ guidance, after which they will hold a joint press conference.
