President Trump declined to specify how far he will go to acquire Greenland, only saying “You’ll find out.”
Trump vs Greenland: “You’ll Find Out”
When asked by a journalist how far he would go to take over Greenland, Donald Trump replied: “You’ll find out.” He also said that many meetings regarding Greenland are planned during the World Economic Forum in Davos. “I think everything will work out very well,” said the politician.
Trump assured that he will agree with NATO on “something that everyone will be satisfied with.” “We need this for national security and security in the world,” emphasized the leader.
Trump’s NATO Stance
The American president stated that “he has done more for NATO than any other person, living or dead.” “NATO must treat us fairly,” Trump said. “My biggest fear regarding NATO is that we spend huge amounts of money on this Alliance and I know we will come to their aid, but I wonder if they will come to our aid.”
Trump’s Threats Regarding Greenland
Earlier in an interview with NBC News, Trump promised that he would 100% keep his threat to impose tariffs on European countries that oppose his demand to take control of Greenland. The US President added that Europe should now focus on the war between Russia and Ukraine.
“We need this territory, our partners must understand this. They are not able to protect Greenland. Danes are wonderful people. I know the leaders, they are very good people, but they don’t even go there,” he told journalists.
The President also said that NATO has been warning Denmark about the Russian threat to Greenland for 20 years.
