Tusk Accuses Orbán and Szijjártó of Leaving Europe

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk criticized Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó following reports of their communications with Russian officials.

Tusk’s Statement on X

Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on recent reports from Hungary on the X platform. A group of journalists uncovered transcripts and audio recordings of conversations between Szijjártó and Lavrov, as well as other Russian officials.

“Hungary is and will remain in the European Union. Viktor Orbán and his foreign minister have long left Europe,” Tusk wrote.

“Absolutely Disqualifying”

The Prime Minister also commented on these reports during a press conference on Wednesday, March 31st. He stated that what they heard and suspected only confirmed the very worrying political dependence of Viktor Orbán’s government and his Foreign Minister, Péter Szijjártó, directly on the Moscow authorities.

Tusk added that nothing more disgusting could have been expected, calling it “absolutely disqualifying.” He repeated his words from the X post.
