Tusk Announces New Name for Central Port Project, Six Allegations Filed

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on 12 December at a ministerial meeting that the Central Port Company would be renamed Port Polska, following six complaints filed with the prosecutor’s office.

Meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office

On Friday, 12 December, Tusk participated in a session titled “Central Airport – Future and Possibilities,” held in the Prime Minister’s office. He highlighted issues surrounding the Central Port Company (CPK).

Allegations and Six Complaints

He said that, like in many governmental areas, CPK had faced abuse, empty propaganda, and even theft. Tusk explained that the name CPK had been read maliciously by some as “All PiS Is Stealing.” He disclosed that a total of six complaint reports have been filed with the prosecutor’s office – three by the Central Port Company and three by the National Tax Administration.

Renaming the Central Port to Port Polska

To distance the project from these irregularities, Tusk declared that the initiative’s name would change to Port Polska.
