Tusk Calls for Security Briefing Following Break-in at Nawrocki Family Home

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has convened an emergency meeting with ministers and security officials after authorities forcibly entered the family home of President Nawrocki in Gdańsk due to a false alarm.

A Targeted Provocation

Prime Minister Donald Tusk described the incident as a “telephonic provocation” aimed at undermining state security. He emphasized that the government will utilize all available methods to identify and apprehend those responsible for the sabotage.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening when emergency services, acting on a false report of a fire and a medical emergency, forced entry into the residence. Upon inspection, the apartment was found to be empty, and no fire or victims were detected.

Government and Presidential Response

Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński confirmed he has organized an emergency meeting with security services to address the false alarms. He also stated his intention to meet with the Head of the Presidential Cabinet to discuss the matter.

Presidential spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz noted that authorities have been paralyzed by a wave of similar false reports targeting public figures and journalists over the past two weeks. The President’s office has called for a decisive government response to ensure public safety.

Pattern of False Alarms

This incident follows a series of recent hoaxes, including false bomb threats and harassment targeting the home of Jarosław Kaczyński and the editor-in-chief of TV Republika. Authorities are currently investigating whether these actions are coordinated.

The State Fire Service confirmed that they received two separate calls regarding the Gdańsk residence, reporting a fire and cardiac arrest. Given the gravity of the claims and the inability to contact the residents, responders were forced to breach the doors.
