Lawsuit Filed Against Olechowski

On Wednesday, December 10, Donald Tusk filed a lawsuit against former Telewizja Polska chief Jarosław Olechowski, alleging the repeated use of the phrase “fur Deutschland” in his broadcasts.

Remote Participation in Hearing

The hearing was conducted online. Both Olechowski and Tusk participated via mobile phone. Olechowski’s attendance was recorded on TV Republika’s live feed, while Tusk had to leave after several minutes due to official duties.

Disputed “fur Deutschland” Phrase

The plaintiff claims that the phrase “fur Deutschland” was used in TVP’s nightly news broadcast, “Wiadomości.” Re‑play of older TVP material containing the wording was presented to the court.

Evidence Denied

All evidence requests submitted by Olechowski’s lawyer were rejected. The court ruled that the requested documents did not support the defence.

Attorney Statements

Tusk’s attorney highlighted that information broadcast by TV Republika is not reliable, and suggested the court reconsider allowing live transmissions of the trial on the station’s channel. Olechowski countered that such statements were not present in the station’s archives.
