Polish Former Prime Minister Donald Tusk will attend the “Willing Coalition” summit in Paris, where French President Emmanuel Macron will seek security guarantees for Ukraine amid ongoing negotiations with Russia.
Coalition Leaders to Attend
Donald Tusk is among political leaders from 35 countries expected to participate in the summit. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte are also scheduled to attend.
Meeting with US President Planned
During the summit, organizers plan a video call with US President Donald Trump to discuss recent Russian peace proposals. The meeting will conclude the summit’s proceedings.
Security Guarantees Main Focus
The summit’s main objective is to reassure coalition partners of their willingness to provide Ukraine with security guarantees once Russia agrees to end the war. French President Emmanuel Macron has emphasized that European leaders will provide security guarantees to Ukraine on the day peace is signed.
