Tusk: Next Year Could Decisively Shape the War and Poland’s Security

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned at a Science for Business conference that 2026 might be the turning point in Russia’s war with Ukraine and Poland’s future security.

2026: A Potential Turning Point

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at the Science for Business conference that 2026 could be decisive in Russia’s war with Ukraine and Poland’s future security.

War’s Tech Dimension

Tusk highlighted that modern conflicts are fought not only on battlefields but also “in laboratories, factories and small enterprises.” He stressed the importance of satellites, artificial intelligence and new technologies for national defence.

Poland is funding Starlink systems for Ukraine, recognising their strategic value, and Tusk remarked that “there is no security without science.”

Rail Sabotage and Ukrainian Cooperation

The prime minister addressed recent sabotage on railway tracks, announcing cooperation with Ukraine to identify perpetrators.

“Those who carry out sabotage are enemies of both Poland and Ukraine,” he said after speaking with President Volodymyr Zelensky, who pledged assistance.

Poland now expects Ukraine to immediately provide data that could help identify threats from individuals linked to Russian services.
