During a ceremony in Dęblin on May 18, Prime Minister Donald Tusk underscored the irreplaceable nature of the Polish-American alliance, framing it as the bedrock of both national and international security.
A Foundation of Mutual Trust
Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared that the current geopolitical climate will not shake the foundations of European and American security. He emphasized that mutual trust and long-term loyalty are essential to overcoming global turbulence.
Describing the presence of Abrams tanks as a symbol of successful cooperation, Tusk asserted that transatlantic unity remains the ultimate guarantee of stability against the threat of global conflict.
Demanding Reciprocity
Tusk stated that Poland stands as a model for other nations in its commitment to transatlantic ties. He noted that Poland expects the same level of respect and predictability from its closest allies that it provides in return.
New Abrams Maintenance Hub
Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz highlighted the creation of a maintenance center in Dęblin, which will serve as a key facility for the Polish army. This investment marks a significant step in servicing Abrams tanks and strengthening the national defense industry.
The facility in Dęblin will be the only center in Europe, and the third globally, authorized to service AGT1500 engines. The Ministry of National Defense plans to develop the necessary infrastructure, train specialized personnel, and stockpile spare parts to ensure operational readiness.
