Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk sharply responds to Trump’s comments on Ukraine, emphasizing that Russia rejected the US peace plan, not Ukraine.

Tusk Addresses Trump Over Ukraine

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk published a post on Thursday, January 15, reminding that it was Russia, not Volodymyr Zelensky, who rejected the US peace plan. “The only reaction from Russia was further rocket attacks on Ukrainian cities. Therefore, the only solution is to increase pressure on Russia. And everyone knows that,” reads the post by the head of the Polish government.

The Polish leader was referring to the latest statement by the President of the United States.

Trump’s ‘Absurd’ Remarks on Peace

US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with Reuters that Vladimir Putin “is ready to make a deal,” while “Ukraine is less ready.” When asked about the obstacle to achieving peace, the American president answered that it is Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Trump, Putin is ready to end his nearly four-year invasion of Ukraine, while the Ukrainian leader should be “more restrained” on this matter.

Russia Continues Attacks, Kyiv Without Heating

Meanwhile, Russia attacked Ukraine from the air during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. In Lviv in the west of the country, a drone crashed onto a playground in the city center. Due to Russian strikes on city heating plants in Kyiv, heating has been out in several hundred blocks for nearly a week. Residents are also struggling with hours-long power outages. Despite the increased work of repair crews, hot water reaches nearly 400 multi-family homes in several districts of Kyiv. City authorities have launched mobile boilers, but this is not enough. The poor technical condition of the heating network is also becoming noticeable. Meanwhile, in Kyiv, the temperature dropped to minus 18 degrees Celsius at night.
