TV Studio Clash Over Zelensky; “He Shows No Regret”

A heated debate erupted on Polsat’s “Breakfast Rymanowski” Sunday program in Warsaw over Ukrainian President Zelensky’s visit, drawing sharp comments from Polish politicians and opposition figures.

Sunday Program Focuses on Zelensky Visit

Polsat’s talk show “Breakfast Rymanowski” scheduled a discussion around Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent trip to Warsaw and his first meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki. The broadcast highlighted the significance of the visit for Poland‑Ukraine relations.

Vice‑Marshal Maciej Żywno Emphasizes Unity

Polish 2050 vice‑marshal Maciej Żywno praised Poland’s united stance in supporting Ukraine, calling the action important for the EU and the United States. He noted that the success, however, has a “sad taste.”

Opposition Sparks Controversy Over Emotions

Opposition leader Piotr Müller argued that international politics should not be driven by emotions. Żywno countered that emotions are necessary. Marcin Przydacz, head of the President’s International Policy Office, criticized the vice‑marshal, claiming Zelensky is expected to visit Warsaw after multiple trips and that the vice‑marshal’s remarks were personal attacks.

The minister of foreign affairs Karol Nawrocki confirmed Żywno’s position, stating the comments were true, while acknowledging the personal offense taken by the vice‑marshal.

Zelensky Calls for Expanded War Negotiations

On 21 December, Zelensky posted on social media that Ukrainian negotiators in Florida were working constructively with U.S. officials, stressing that the outcome depends on Russia’s willingness to end the war.

He warned that Russian actions, including war crimes and continuous shelling of Ukrainian infrastructure, must not be ignored. Negotiations held last Friday and Saturday involved U.S. counterparts, with a meeting between Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner.
