Twenty individuals were detained by Warsaw police on drug‑related charges, including possession, distribution, and trafficking, across the capital and Masovian region this week.
Twenty Arrested by Capital Police
Twenty people were arrested by Warsaw police for drug offenses. The main charges were possession, distribution, and trafficking of prohibited substances. Arrests occurred in the Warsaw garrison and Masovian region, with involvement from district and county police and the criminal wing of the Capital Police.
February 2023 Roots of Operation
The investigation dates back to February of this year when Piaseczno police arrested a 23‑year‑old Polish citizen on charges of possessing large amounts of drugs. Detailed analysis of evidence enabled subsequent arrests of 19 more people. The Piaseczno District Prosecutor’s Office played a key role, charging the detained persons with possession, distribution, and trafficking.
August Operations by Anti‑Drug Unit
Given the complexity, August saw the Anti‑Drug Crime Unit of the Capital Police continue the work. Through meticulous operational work over nearly four months they obtained evidence and identified additional suspects involved in drug crimes.
Recent Detentions Based on Prosecutor’s Decision
Following an order from the 8th Section of the Military Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, a few days ago 20 persons were detained suspected of trafficking large amounts of narcotics and psychoactive substances. This was possible thanks to support from other criminal wing units and district and county commands.
Court Orders Temporary Detention
All suspects have now faced charges. The court, at the prosecutor’s request, imposed a three‑month remand on nine of them.
