Initial Collisions and Traffic Disruption
Two collisions on the S8 expressway near Głębocka Street, heading towards Marki, led to major traffic disruptions and the temporary closure of two lanes. Firefighters, paramedics, and police are at the scene, with traffic limited to one lane in the affected area.
First Collision: Citroën and Kia Impact
The first collision occurred on the exit from the transit route to the local lane towards Marki. A Citroën passenger vehicle reportedly collided with the rear of a Kia. The Kia then impacted energy-absorbing barriers. No injuries were reported in this incident.
Second Collision: Tow Truck Hits Stationary Truck
Shortly after, approximately 400 meters prior to the first collision, a Fuso tow truck carrying a Tesla collided with the rear of a truck stopped in traffic. The tow truck driver was examined by paramedics but did not require hospitalization.
Ongoing Traffic Restrictions
Initially, two lanes were blocked towards Marki. Currently, one lane remains closed, but drivers should still expect significant delays and reduced speed on this section of the S8.
Speed Monitoring Zone
The area where both collisions occurred is within a speed monitoring zone. The CANARD system operates between Łabiszyńska Street in Warsaw and Szpitalna Street in Marki, covering both directions of the S8 expressway.
