Two Dead After Illegal U-Turn Near Warsaw

A collision in Warsaw on Saturday evening claimed two lives after a Honda driver executed an illegal U-turn from the far-right lane, causing a high-speed crash involving an Audi.

Fatal Collision After Traffic Violation

The accident occurred on Saturday, June 6, at approximately 7:40 PM. Findings indicate that a Honda driver attempted to make a U-turn from the far-right lane, which is designated exclusively for right turns. The vehicle crossed two lanes into the center of the intersection, where it was struck by an Audi traveling straight in the left lane.

Audi Splits on Impact

Following the initial impact, the Audi spun, struck a lighting pole, and disintegrated. Debris from the destroyed vehicle damaged three oncoming cars—a Ford and two Toyotas. Three young men were inside the Audi at the time of the crash.

Emergency Response and Casualties

Medical responders, firefighters, and police arrived at the scene, supported by an Air Ambulance helicopter. Firefighters used specialized equipment to extricate a passenger trapped in the wreckage. Two men, aged 22 and 23, have died, while a 24-year-old is fighting for his life in the hospital.

Investigation and Arrest

Police have arrested the 37-year-old Turkish national driving the Honda. Investigations reveal he was operating as an app-based ride-share driver and was sober at the time of the incident. Authorities are continuing to clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
