Two Heating Outages on Niepodległości Avenue Cause Road Closures and Bus Reroutes

Two heating system outages on Niepodległości Avenue in Warsaw will block key street links from 11 to 15 December, forcing traffic diversions and new bus routes.

Heating Network Failure on Niepodległości Avenue

Two heating network failures occurred on Niepodległości Avenue, one at the intersection with Trasa Łazienkowska and another at Narbutta Street.

Repair work is scheduled to begin on Thursday, 11 December at 17:00 and will last until Monday, 15 December at 04:00.

The works will close three traffic lanes toward Stefan Bator: two for traffic turning left onto Trasa Łazienkowska and one for straight driving, while the remaining two lanes will remain open.

Traffic will be diverted via Niepodległości Avenue, Stefan Bator Street, and Wyszyński Street until the same Monday.

Road Impact on Wawel Street

From 23:00 on Thursday until 23:00 Friday, heating and hot water will be unavailable to buildings adjacent to the closed lanes on Wawel Street.

Second Failure at 140 Niepodległości

A second failure at number 140 Niepodległości will be repaired starting Friday, 12 December at 22:00 and will finish on Monday, 15 December at 04:00.

During the works, traffic between MadalinSki and Narbutta will be blocked, and lanes toward Stefan Bator for straight driving will be closed.

Access to Narbutta will be available only via Lubocka and Krożanska, with traffic turning right or U‑turning at the intersection with Narbutta.

Throughout the corridor, Narbutta will lose direct connection to Niepodległości on both sides; only a two‑way segment between Asfaltowa and Niepodległości will remain.

In the remaining section, cars will travel on Narbutta only from Niepodległości toward Słomiński Square.

Drivers will circumvent the closed section via MadalinSki, Pusawska or Boboli to reach Stefan Bator.

Exits from properties between Narbutta and Rakowiecka will be allowed only toward Stefan Bator.

Heating companies will address the outage before the frosts, ensuring residents in nearby buildings retain hot water and heating during construction.

Bus Route Changes

Bus lines 174 (toward the UN Roundabout), 168 (toward Witolina), and night services N36 and N86 (to Central Station) will use MadalinSki, Boboli, and Rakowiecka streets instead of the closed lanes.
