Two Men Arrested Over False Fire Alarm at Szczecin Station

Two men were arrested days after they deliberately cut power and triggered a false fire alarm at Szczecin’s main railway station, prompting a police response in the city.

Power Cut and Alarm Triggered

The 19‑ and 31‑year‑old men intentionally disabled the electrical supply to part of the station and then activated the fire alarm system, although no danger existed.

Police Respond

Police were called to Szczecin Main Station after a potential fire threat was reported. Upon securing surveillance footage, they confirmed the situation was staged.

Rapid Arrests

Two days later, officers from the City Police Headquarters and the Szczecin‑Śródmieście police district identified and detained the suspects. The men are already charged.

Legal Measures

The prosecutor placed the suspects under police supervision, imposed a ban on leaving the country and prohibited them from approaching the PKP Szczecin Główny building.

Safety Warning

Under Poland’s current Charlie alert, activating false alarms is especially irresponsible, as it disrupts officers’ work and poses a public safety risk.
