Two Men Charged Following Investigation Into Bomb Threats and False Alarms

Prosecutors from the National Prosecutor’s Office in Silesia have charged Wiktor Z. and Bartosz Ł. with crimes related to a string of digital bomb threats and false alarms sent between 2023 and 2025.

Charges and Judicial Measures

Viktor Z. and Bartosz Ł. were detained on Tuesday, with formal charges presented by the Silesian Department of the National Prosecutor’s Office on Friday. The allegations span the period from February 1, 2023, to September 5, 2025.

Viktor Z. has been released under police supervision with a travel ban and bail, while prosecutors have requested temporary detention for Bartosz Ł. The latter had previously faced 18 related charges in the same ongoing investigation.

Organized Criminal Activity

Prosecutor Katarzyna Calów-Jaszewska confirmed that both suspects are accused of participating in an organized criminal group. The group’s primary objective involved issuing fraudulent bomb alerts to various institutions and private individuals via the internet.

Links to Warsaw Investigation

The National Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed a connection between this case and a separate investigation led by the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor’s Office. Two additional suspects were detained in May regarding false alarms in the capital.

Authorities noted that the individuals involved in the Warsaw proceedings are linked to the Silesian investigation, with at least one suspect having faced prior charges in both jurisdictions.
