At 18:05 on 22 December 2025, two Warsaw Commuter Railway (WKD) trains collided at the Warszawa Śródmieście WKD station. One consist was stationary on the track, the other departed with passengers and struck the rear of the parked train for unknown reasons.
Investigation
Police are conducting parallel operations to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the incident. Firefighters are limited to securing the site.
Rescue Efforts
Several medical relief teams, four fire‑brigade squads, a city operational group and police are working on site, providing medical assistance to the injured.
Service Disruption Notice
Warsaw Commuter Railway announced that serious delays will affect services on the line between Warszawa Śródmieście WKD and Komorów. Trains will not operate on that segment while track 2 (right‑hand track towards Warsaw) remains closed until damaged sets are removed. Trains from Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Milanówka will take a shortened route and be turned back at Komorów toward Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Komorów. The railway apologised for the inconvenience caused while the damaged sets are removed.
