Rescue Response

Several fire company crews, including rescue boats and the LWOPR, were dispatched alongside two medical rescue teams, the Air Ambulance Service helicopter “Ratownik 12,” and police. At the scene, Unit No. 1 of the Rescue and Fire Brigade secured the area while a diver canvassed the canal bed for additional persons or items. Firefighters began water operations, locating both victims, hauling them aboard a boat, and transferring them to the shore for medical teams.

Medical Situation

A 47‑year‑old and a 71‑year‑old woman were extracted from the water in critical condition and required immediate advanced medical care. Intensive resuscitation procedures were performed on shore, and after basic life functions were restored, the women were transported to hospitals in very severe condition.

Investigation Status

Fishing gear found near the incident site suggests the women may have been fishing there, but circumstances remain undetermined. Police are securing the scene, photographing it, and collecting witness statements. Investigators will determine how the women entered the water and whether an accident occurred, relying on evidence, examinations, surveillance footage, and expert testimony.
