Two Years Into Tusk’s Government: How Poles Rate the Coalition’s Performance—Survey

On December 13, two years after President Andrzej Duda sworn in Donald Tusk’s government, a Wirtualna Polska survey finds over half of respondents rate the administration negatively: 39 % “definitely negative” and 11.5 % “rather negative”.

Government Evaluation After Two Years

Among 1,000 respondents surveyed from December 5–8, 39 % answered “definitely negative” and 11.5 % said “rather negative”, giving a total negative response rate above 50 %. Positive evaluations totaled 42 %: 8.7 % “definitely positive” and 33.3 % “rather positive”. Seven and a half percent of respondents marked “don’t know / unsure”.

When segmented by political allegiance, 85 % of coalition voters (including KO, Trzecia Droga, and Lewica) rated the government positively, whereas 90 % of opposition voters (PiS, Konfederacja) gave negative ratings. In the “others” category, positives outweighed negatives at 49 % versus 25 %.

Opinion by Political Alignment

Coalition supporters overwhelmingly favor the government: 19 % “definitely yes” and 59 % “rather yes” about its future, while opposition supporters are more divided, with 14 % “definitely yes” and 20 % “rather yes”, and 48 % expressing doubt or opposition.

Survival of the Coalition

Approximately 49.6 % of all respondents believe the governing coalition will remain intact until the next election; 30.1 % think it will not, and 20.3 % have no opinion. Among coalition backers, 19 % are “definitely” in favor of survival and 59 % are “rather” in favor; only 3 % are “definitely” opposed and 10 % “rather” opposed.

Among opposition backers, 14 % are “definitely” in favor of the coalition’s continuation and 20 % “rather” in favor, while 27 % are “definitely” opposed and 21 % “rather” opposed. Eighteen percent of opposition voters answered “don’t know / unsure”.

Survey Methodology

The initial survey was conducted by United Surveys on behalf of IBRiS between December 5–8 using a mixed CATI & CAWI methodology, surveying 1,000 adults nationwide.

Polskie Radio 24’s accompanying survey was carried out on December 8–9, 2025, by the Institute of Market and Social Research (IBRiS) using CATI on a representative national sample of 1,072 participants.
