Ukraine, Russia, USA to Hold Peace Talks; Zelensky Highlights Donbas as “Key Issue”

Ukraine, Russia, and the US will begin two-day peace talks in Abu Dhabi on Friday, January 23, with Zelensky stressing Donbas as critical.

Two-day peace negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States will commence in Abu Dhabi on Friday, January 23. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that the Donbas issue is key and will be discussed by all three parties regarding their perspectives on the matter.

US Representatives: Witkoff and Kushner

The United States will be represented by special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Both traveled to Abu Dhabi for the talks following meetings with Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

Russian and Ukrainian Delegations

Russia’s delegation will be led by GRU Chief Igor Kostiukow, including Defense Ministry officials. Ukraine’s team includes National Security Council Secretary Rustem Umerow, Head of Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanow, his deputy Serhij Kysłyca, Chief of the General Staff Andrij Hnatow, and Davyd Arachamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction.
