Ukraine launched drone attacks on multiple locations within Russia overnight, causing power outages and prompting a state of emergency in Krasnodar Krai.

Drone Attacks Target Russian Infrastructure

Ukraine conducted drone attacks across various locations in Russia between Wednesday and Thursday (April 15-16). The Russian Ministry of Defense reported intercepting a total of 207 drones during the night.

Power and Water Disruptions

Interruptions in electricity and water supplies were reported following the attacks. A state of emergency was declared in Krasnodar Krai.

Casualties Reported in Krasnodar Krai

Local authorities in Krasnodar Krai stated that two people, including a minor, were killed in the Ukrainian attacks, with several others injured. Areas in Belgorod Oblast experienced power and water outages.

Fire at Tuapse Refinery

The ASTRA channel reported a fire broke out at the Tuapse refinery following an attack. The refinery is managed by a Rosneft subsidiary and is part of a larger fuel supply complex, including a terminal on the Black Sea.

Polish Soldier Arrested on Espionage Charges

A soldier with the Territorial Defense Force (WOT) from Poznan, Poland, has been arrested on suspicion of spying for Russia.

Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant Loses External Power

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Enerhodar, southeastern Ukraine, lost external power on Tuesday. Energy supplies were restored after approximately 90 minutes.

IAEA Warns of Nuclear Safety Risks

“The loss of external power once again highlights the nuclear safety risks during the conflict,” stated Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in a Reuters-cited statement.
