Ukraine’s UAV Commander Threatens Mass Blackout in Russia

Ukrainian UAV commander has warned that a mass blackout could hit Russia as part of ongoing drone attacks on its power grid, saying civilians should adapt quickly.

Ukrainian Drone Commander Warns of Potential Blackout

Major Robert “Madziar” Browdi posted a Facebook message on Saturday, November 1, in which he outlined a planned barrage of attacks on Russian energy infrastructure that could disrupt power supply across the country. Browdi addressed Russians directly, saying “Bugs, blackout—nothing to fear; just inconveniences, get used to it.” He referred to the continued unpredictability of the “Free Bird” UAV strikes.

Irony Over Power Cuts

Browdi added that Ukraine intends to strike deep Russian targets and urged Russian civilians to quickly adapt to new conditions and live without electricity. He finished with a sardonic remark encouraging the use of matches, flashlights and candles, and even suggested people employ their favorite battery‑powered garlands.

Moscow Witnesses Sudden Electricity Outages

During the night of Friday to Saturday in the Moscow region, residents reported abrupt power cuts. Russian authorities blamed a failure, while local internet posts cited drones swooping over homes, odd sounds and explosions. Sources from both sides noted that during these outages Ukrainian drones were actively attacking Russian targets.

Drone Attacks Coincide with Power Disruptions

Moscow officials reported that within a few hours roughly 100 drones were shot down across multiple districts. Because of the attacks, some airports were temporarily closed. The incident occurred amid the noted power supply interruptions in the region.
