Ukrainian Driver Stole Parcel‑Locker Car, Brought Police to a Warning Shot

A 34‑year‑old Ukrainian stole an Opel Corsa left beside a parcel locker in Sochaczew, Poland, and fled, prompting police on road 92 to use a patrol car as a barrier and fire a warning shot.

Stolen vehicle found beside parcel locker

A 34‑year‑old Ukrainian citizen stole an Opel Corsa that was left idling near a parcel locker in Sochaczew. Reported at 15:30 to the Sochaczew County Police HQ, the vehicle was taken immediately after the driver boarded it.

Rapid police response and pursuit

Following the theft report, patrol units alerted all nearby officers. A patrol car spotted the Opel in the Teresin district, and an immediate pursuit began on national road 92.

The driver ignored traffic signals and police warnings, driving aggressively and creating danger for other motorists and law enforcement.

Violent escape and encounter with police

While running, the suspect ignored road signs and continued despite police attempts to stop him. In Szymanów he damaged a patrol vehicle and a by‑stander’s car, then drove through a field toward police, who fired a warning shot that failed to deter him.

He subsequently swerved onto road 92, turning toward Warsaw. Police, fearing a potential tragedy in the heavy traffic of the afternoon, used the patrol car as a direct force tool to stop the escape.

Arrest, medical testing and aftereffects

The suspect was taken to the Sochaczew County Police holding area, where officers collected blood samples to test for alcohol and psychoactive substances under a prosecutor’s supervision.

One police officer was injured when the suspect ran past him, though no serious harm was reported. The suspect remains detained at the police station.
