Ukrainian Influencer Fined for Illegal Drive to Morskie Oko; Minister Promises Strict Accountability

Ukrainian influencer Andrij Gawryliw faces a five-year entry ban after driving his sports car over eight kilometers into the Tatra National Park, a restricted area, on May 22.

The Unauthorized Drive

On Friday, May 22, Ukrainian influencer Andrij Gawryliw drove a sports car along an eight-kilometer route in the Tatra National Park, which is strictly closed to unauthorized vehicular traffic. After taking photographs with his partner at Morskie Oko, he returned along the same path.

Police Intervention and Park Security

Local police initially fined the influencer 100 PLN, far below the maximum penalty of 5,000 PLN, after the man reportedly misled officers regarding the extent of his illegal entry. The Tatra National Park authorities were unaware of the breach until images surfaced online, noting that the barrier at the start of the trail was temporarily disconnected due to ongoing road repairs.

Government and Ministerial Response

Prime Minister Donald Tusk addressed the incident, labeling it a cause for understandable public outrage and ordering the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration to establish all details and ensure strict consequences. Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński confirmed that the perpetrator will be held accountable and faces a five-year ban from entering Poland due to the breach of public order.
