Unconfirmed: Secret CIA Chief Visit to Poland; Meetings Disclosed

CIA Director John Ratcliff reportedly held undisclosed meetings in Poland with Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak.

Unconfirmed Report of Secret Visit

RMF FM’s Washington correspondent Paweł Żuchowski reported on X that CIA Director John Ratcliff visited Poland secretly in recent days, citing Washington sources. The details of the discussions remain confidential.

No Official Confirmation

The Polish Ministry of National Defense requested questions be emailed for comment. Spokesperson Jacek Dobrzyński for Tomasz Siemoniak stated he had no knowledge of such a meeting and suggested direct contact. Siemoniak did not answer a phone call; an SMS was sent. The CIA’s press office was also contacted Friday afternoon for comment, but responses are awaited.

Previous CIA Director Visits

Former CIA Director William Burns visited Poland multiple times. In March 2023, he met in Warsaw with then-Special Services Coordinator Mariusz Kamiński to discuss Russian aggression against Ukraine and geopolitical issues. A year earlier, Burns also held meetings with heads of Poland’s ABW, AW, SKW, and SWW agencies.
