Polish emergency services intervened at a Warsaw apartment building on Marzanny Street on March 26th following reports of an unidentified substance.
Initial Response and Investigation
On March 26th, around 1:00 PM, emergency services responded to a multi-family building on Marzanny Street in Warsaw’s Mokotów district after a report concerning an unknown substance found in an apartment.
Preliminary assessments suggested the substance could pose a threat to both the apartment’s occupants and other residents of the building.
Specialized Units Deployed
Police and fire services, including the Specialist Chemical and Ecological Rescue Group, were dispatched to the scene. Personnel from the Pyrotechnic Unit also participated in the operation.
Substance Secured for Analysis
Firefighters, wearing specialized protective suits, thoroughly inspected the apartment. Containers holding the unknown substance were secured during the intervention.
The secured containers will undergo detailed analysis to determine their composition and assess whether they presented a genuine hazard.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
A 36-year-old Polish citizen was detained in connection with the incident. The origin and intended use of the substance remain unknown at this time.
No Immediate Danger to Residents
Emergency services confirmed that residents of the building are not currently in direct danger. Further developments will depend on the results of the substance analysis and ongoing investigative procedures.
