Drone Found Near Government Buildings

A remotely piloted drone was discovered near the fence of the Polish Senate in the central Warsaw park on Tuesday morning around 10 AM. Local authorities immediately cordoned off the area and are investigating the unmanned aircraft near significant government buildings.

Security Operations Underway

Police, including explosive ordinance disposal teams from the Police Special Contraterrorist Unit, are on the scene. The area has been secured and firefighters are also present to offer their assistance.

Evidence Collection and Analysis Ongoing

The police were alerted to the incident by the Marshal’s Office, which initially believed the drone to be a small remotely piloted aircraft, possibly a toy. The investigation is ongoing to determine how the device ended up close to government buildings.

Similar Incident Last Week

The discovery comes after another drone incident in downtown Warsaw last Monday. A 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen was flying a drone in the vicinity of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery and the Belvedere, violating the protected airspace. His 17-year-old Russian partner claimed they were showing her the panorama of the Royal Baths.
