Unusual Collision on S8 Road Leaves Roadway Covered in Eggs

A Citroen and Peugeot collided on S8 road in Poland on February 14, spilling hundreds of eggs that covered the roadway.

The Collision

On S8 between Powązkowska and Broniewski in the direction of the Grot-Rowecki Bridge, a Citroen and Peugeot collided, with one vehicle also hitting barriers. Hundreds of broken eggs covered the roadway, blocking two lanes.

Emergency Response

A medical team was called to the scene on Saturday, February 14. Paramedics examined those involved in the incident, but no injuries were sustained and no hospital transport was required. Police classified the event as a collision.

Unusual Aftermath

An unusual consequence of the collision was the load being transported in the Citroen. The vehicle contained several hundred eggs that, after hitting the Peugeot and then the barriers, spilled and covered the road. The broken contents created a layer of “unscrambled scrambled eggs” on the surface, requiring cleanup before normal traffic could resume.

Traffic Impact

During the cleanup operations, two lanes in the direction of the Grot-Rowecki Bridge were blocked, causing traffic disruptions on the S8 in the area of the incident.
