URGENT APPEAL FROM MFA: POLANDERS SHOULD IMMEDIATELY LEAVE THREE COUNTRIES. “RISK OF ESCALATION IS HIGH”

Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns citizens in Lebanon, Israel, and Iran of high escalation risks, urging immediate departure.

MFA Alert

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, via its “Pole za granicą” profile on X, has issued warnings for Polish citizens abroad or planning foreign travel. A Friday, February 27, communication emphasized the “high risk of escalation” in the Middle East.

Return Difficulties

The MFA stated that returning to Poland from Lebanon, Israel, and Iran could be potentially impossible or significantly hindered. It highlighted that the airspace for civilian flights in these three countries could be closed at any moment. Citizens in these nations should secure finances, carry a passport, a charged phone, and basic medications. Registering with the Odyseusz system is also advised for rapid communication during threats.

US-Iran Negotiations

On Thursday, negotiations between the United States and Iran took place in Geneva regarding Iran’s nuclear program. US President Donald Trump has previously warned the US might attack Iran if Tehran does not abandon its nuclear program. Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, who mediated the talks, praised their progress and stated representatives from both countries will likely meet again next week in Vienna.

Following the Geneva meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi only noted “good progress on some issues,” acknowledging that other matters still divide Iranians and Americans. The US delegation was represented by Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and special envoy Steve Witkoff, with no official US statement issued post-meeting.

Military Options

According to unofficial media reports, the US is preparing for a potential attack on Iran. US news outlet ABC News reported that Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command overseeing Middle East forces, presented President Trump with “potential military options against Iran” on Thursday. These reportedly included a limited strike on ballistic missile launchers and nuclear facilities, or a larger operation targeting numerous objectives over an extended period.
