Urgent Blood Request
An urgent appeal for blood donations has been issued for 17-year-old Dominik Hołuj, who was seriously injured in an accident at the PKP Wola Bierwiecka train station and is in critical condition. Blood group B Rh- is particularly needed, and donors are asked to specify that their donation is for the teenager.
Family’s Plea
The family and friends of the teenager launched the blood donation drive after he suffered extensive injuries and underwent a multi-hour surgery. While blood group B Rh- is in high demand, all donated blood is crucial for his treatment and replenishing hospital supplies.
Accident Details
The accident occurred on Saturday, February 14, at approximately 11:40 AM at the PKP Wola Bierwiecka station while a Koleje Mazowieckie train from Radom Główny to Warszawa Gdańska was at a stop. Dominik was helping a woman with a stroller when the doors closed on his arm. He was left on the platform as the train departed. A few seconds later, he was found under the train. Authorities are investigating the circumstances.
How to Donate
Donations can be made at the Mazowiecki Szpital Specjalistyczny in Radom, with a note specifying “Dominik Hołuj, B Rh-.” Alternatively, blood can be donated at the Regional Blood Transfusion Center in Radom at ul. Limanowskiego 42, also with a note for Dominik Hołuj.
Community Response
Dominik’s school has joined the appeal, and local municipalities are sharing calls for donations. The gmina of Stara Błotnica has announced a blood drive for Dominik on February 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Public Primary School in Stara Błotnica. The drive will prioritize blood group B Rh-, and those unable to donate are encouraged to spread the word.
