Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński confirmed a deliberate bombing of train tracks in Mika this weekend, citing secured evidence and ongoing investigations into a second related incident.
Immediate Confirmation of Sabotage
During a weekend press briefing, Minister of Interior Marcin Kierwiński announced that two acts of sabotage had occurred, one of which has been confirmed as an explosive attack on the tracks at the village of Mika. Experts verified the damage beyond doubt.
Evidence Secured and Ongoing Analysis
Kierwiński said that a large amount of evidence has been collected, enabling a rapid identification of the perpetrators. He also noted that investigations continue into a second incident that took place at 21:30 on Sunday, involving damage to an electrical line on the same railway line and a metal arm cut by passing trains.
Special Services Track Record
Special services coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak reported that since January 2024, 55 individuals have been detained, several arrested, and a few convicted in cases of sabotage on Polish territory ordered by foreign services. Many of these suspects have already been released from the country.

Siemoniak warned that these incidents illustrate a new phase in which foreign actors are beginning to threaten Poland’s railway infrastructure more aggressively.
