US Congress to Review Uncensored Epstein Files

Department of Justice grants congressional access to 3 million uncensored Epstein documents starting February 9th.

Uncensored Files Access

The US Department of Justice will provide uncensored copies of Jeffrey Epstein’s files to members of Congress, Axios reported. This follows a letter from Deputy Attorney General Patrick Davis to congressional members, revealing that 3 million documents will be available for review.

Access will begin on February 9th in the DOJ’s reading room in Washington, D.C., operating Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Congress members must request access at least one day in advance and will only be permitted to take handwritten notes, with no electronic devices allowed.

Democratic Criticisms

This decision appears to be a response to criticism from Democratic politicians who alleged that the Department of Justice was not complying with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. They claimed the DOJ was heavily censoring documents rather than making them fully available to the public.

Representative Jamie Raskin of the House Judiciary Committee had specifically requested access to “full, uncensored Epstein files.” Raskin emphasized that any censorship should only protect crime victims, not be motivated by official embarrassment or political sensitivity.

Document Publication

On Friday, January 30th, the US Department of Justice published over 3 million pages of documents related to Epstein’s criminal investigations. This publication was conducted under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was passed by Congress and signed by President Trump on November 19, 2025.

The released materials include over 2,000 videos and 180,000 photographs. The documents were compiled from five main sources, including investigations in Florida and New York against Epstein, the New York case against Ghislaine Maxwell, investigations into Epstein’s death, and an inquiry by the Office of the Inspector General regarding Epstein’s death.
