Zelensky: US Gave Us Until June

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski has told journalists that the United States has given Ukraine and Russia a deadline of June to reach an agreement. “The Americans propose ending the war to the beginning of this summer and will likely pressure both sides exactly according to this schedule,” stated the politician, cited by Associated Press. “They say they want to do everything by June. And they will do everything to end the war. And they want a clear schedule of all events,” he added.

Unofficially: March Was Mentioned in Talks

According to Reuters unofficially, “negotiators from the United States and Ukraine discussed an ambitious goal of Russia and Ukraine reaching a peace agreement by March.” The agency also points out, citing its sources, that “this deadline will likely be postponed due to lack of agreement on the key territorial issue.” This specifically concerns issues of Donbas and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. One proposal would have the terms specified in the agreement submitted to a referendum by Ukrainians.
