Following the January 26th stabbing in Ustka, toxicology reports confirm the suspect, a 44-year-old SOP officer, was not impaired, as investigations continue.
Toxicology Results Clear Suspect
The Słupsk prosecutor’s office has received the results of toxicology tests conducted on Piotr K., the suspect in the Ustka murder case, according to spokesperson Paweł Wnuk.
The tests indicate that Piotr K. was not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or psychotropic substances at the time of the alleged crimes.
Psychiatric Assessment Underway
Investigators are awaiting the results of a psychiatric evaluation conducted on the suspect. Piotr K. underwent a single psychiatric examination as an outpatient to determine his mental state at the time of the incident.
Two specialist experts performed the evaluation, but the psychiatric opinion is not yet available.
Arrest Extension Sought
Prosecutors intend to request a three-month extension of Piotr K.’s arrest. He faces charges of murdering his four-year-old daughter and attempting to murder four family members.
Piotr K. has confessed to the charges and faces a potential life sentence.
Family Attack During Vacation
The crime occurred on January 26th while Piotr K., a 23-year veteran of the SOP, was on vacation with his wife and children at his in-laws’ apartment in Ustka, located on Bałtycka Street.
After a card game, he allegedly attacked his family with a knife. Despite resuscitation efforts, his four-year-old daughter died. His wife, his in-laws, and his son were hospitalized.
SOP Officer Dismissed From Service
Following the incident, Piotr K. was suspended from his duties and proceedings were initiated for his dismissal from the SOP.
The Ministry of Interior and Administration reported that he underwent a periodic medical examination in October of the previous year. He was stationed in Warsaw and did not directly participate in the protection of high-ranking state officials.
On February 10th, a SOP spokesperson confirmed that Piotr K. had been dismissed from the service.
