Collision Details
On Tuesday, May 5th, at approximately 9:20 AM, a delivery van collided with a semi-trailer truck on the local lane of the S2 highway before the Opacz interchange, heading towards Krakow Avenue.
Initial findings suggest the van rear-ended the truck. The delivery van impacted the rear of the semi-trailer’s trailer.
Rescue Operation
Firefighters, paramedics, and police were dispatched to the scene. Due to the damage to the delivery van, firefighters used hydraulic tools to access the driver.
Rescuers cut open one of the van’s doors and extracted the man, transferring him to the care of the ambulance crew.
Post-Incident Procedures
After receiving necessary assistance, the van driver remained at the scene. Police checked both drivers involved in the collision.
Both drivers were confirmed to be sober and possessed valid driving licenses.
Traffic Disruption
The local lane of the S2 highway was completely blocked during the emergency response. Traffic was partially restored to one lane around 10:00 AM.
