Two hospitalized after delivery vehicle dragged 2km by truck on A2 near Warsaw in February 2026 accident.
The Accident
A serious accident occurred on the A2 highway near MOP Baranów on Friday, February 13, 2026, around 22:00. The incident involved a truck (tractor with trailer) and a delivery vehicle, resulting in two people from the van being hospitalized.
Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the delivery vehicle collided with the back of the truck’s trailer. After impact, the van was allegedly dragged by the truck for approximately 2 kilometers before the truck driver realized what had happened.
Discovery of the Incident
The truck driver felt the impact and noticed signals suggesting something was wrong with the trailer. Based on initial reports, he believed one of the tires might be damaged. Due to the short distance to MOP Baranów (about 2.5 km), he decided to continue to the parking lot before inspecting his vehicle.
Only after other drivers informed him that a delivery vehicle was being dragged behind his trailer did the truck driver become aware of the full extent of the situation.
Emergency Response
Emergency services, including the fire department, medical rescue teams, and police, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters accessed the occupants of the van and handed them over to medical personnel. Two individuals from the delivery vehicle were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police Investigation
Police are conducting investigative proceedings into the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver of the van may have fallen asleep at the wheel, potentially causing the collision. Further details are still under investigation.
