Vandalism Destroys KOD Exhibition in Kielce’s City Center

Sunday, December 14, vandals tore, smashed, and left most photo displays of KOD’s “10 Years” exhibition shattered in Kielce’s Literary Square.

Exhibit Sabotaged

The Komitet Obrony Demokracji reported that most of the photo boards from the “10 Years KOD” exhibition on Literatów Square were ripped from their frames, with some shattered.

One exhibitor who noticed the damage lodged a police complaint; officers inspected the scene and spoke with witnesses.

Organizer’s Frustration

Monika Szafraniec, chair of the regional board, admitted the organizers had not anticipated a vandal attack.

She said, “I’m terribly angry,” noting that the event, held in the city center, was monitored and patrolled, yet the vandals caused no further damage.

The KOD estimates the exhibit’s value at about 2 000 złoty, excluding the volunteer work invested by members and supporters.

Brief Exhibition Timeline

The exhibition commemorating the Democratic Defense Committee’s ten‑year anniversary opened on December 3, 2025, at Literatów Square.

Its caption noted the displays honored the movement’s work and documented the commitment of thousands who stood guard for rule of law and democracy.
