Nawrocki’s Veto of Crypto‑Assets Bill
President Karol Nawrocki vetoed the law on crypto‑assets and the so‑called “chain law” that would build kennels for dogs to prevent them from being chained.
Marshal Czarzasty’s Statement
At the press conference on Wednesday, 3 December, Włodzimierz Czarzasty said he would publish the decision and forward the matter about the veto to the committee. He directed the chain law to a special animal‑protection committee and noted that the veto would be voted.
Parliament’s Power to Reject Veto
The Sejm can reject a presidential veto with a 3/5 majority, provided at least half of the 460 MPs are present.
Grzegorz Braun Declared Persona Non Grata
Czarzasty announced that he would not invite party leader Grzegorz Braun to the Senior Convention, citing Braun’s party’s alleged links to Russian agency and de‑legalization and the fact he used Article 15(3). He also stated that the circles of Mr Kukiz and Mr Zandberg would not be invited if not elected in the 2021 party act.
Ziobro’s Fate at the State Tribunal
Attorney General Waldemar Żurek’s letter of 26 November urged the Sejm to hold the case of Zbigniew Ziobro, who faces 26 alleged crimes, for the State Tribunal. The coalition moved to gather over 115 signatures from MPs to transfer the matter to the tribunal.
