A helium-filled viewing balloon may return to Warsaw’s Vistula River near PGE National Stadium, similar to one that operated at Świętokrzyski Bridge in 2012.
Return of the Viewing Balloon
A viewing balloon is planned to return to Warsaw, this time near PGE National Stadium on the eastern side, with infrastructure being prepared for tethered flights. This is another attempt at such an attraction that existed in 2012 when the Orange Balloon Station operated near Świętokrzyski Bridge.
Technical Details
The balloon will be operated by Air Ship Adventure, with a maximum ascent height of 160 meters. It will be a year-round solution, filled with helium, featuring a spherical canopy and side winches. The balloon will dock at a specific height during the day and be lowered at night.
Timeline
Work on the foundation for the platform reportedly began in 2025, with summer 2025 mentioned as a possible time for the first flights, though no official date has been confirmed.
Previous Balloon Attraction
In 2012, a helium viewing balloon called the Orange Balloon Station operated near Świętokrzyski Bridge on the right bank of the Vistula. It could carry up to 30 people at a time and offered views of Warsaw from about 130 meters. At that time, a ride cost 35-40 Polish złoty and was used by tens of thousands of visitors.
