Poland’s weather will shift from foggy, cold highs today to a modest warming over the weekend, with clear skies and temperatures topping 10 °C in the southeast by Friday.
High‑pressure system dominates today’s weather
A high‑pressure system, combined with a temperature inversion and very little wind, creates thick fog and smog in parts of southern Poland. The lingering cold polar air mass keeps Tuesday’s maximum around 3–5 °C.
Friday: modest warming in eastern and southeastern regions
On Friday a slight warming is expected, mainly across eastern and southeastern voivodeships. Residents in the southern part of Podkarpackie, Lublin, and eastern Masovia can expect clearer skies, with temperatures climbing to 10–12 °C.
Western and central areas to see light rain
In the west and centre of the country, temperatures will be 2–8 °C. Beginning in the morning, rainfall may appear in western voivodeships, continuing all day at varying intensities before ending late afternoon or evening.
Saturday: temperatures rise across most of Poland
Saturday will bring a rise in temperature throughout the country, with 6–8 °C noted nationwide and 10–12 °C in the southeast. The north will still stay cool, with peak temperatures of 3–5 °C, while eastern and southern areas can expect clear skies. The rest of the country will remain overcast, with fog possible in some parts.
Sunday: clearer skies in the west, cooler in the east
On Sunday bright blue skies will appear mainly in the west—especially Greater Poland, Lower Silesia, along the coast, and Lubusz Land—where temperatures will reach 6–8 °C. Similar temperatures will be found on the fringes of the southeast. The east and northeast will remain cold and overcast, with temperatures up to 3–5 °C.
Potential low‑pressure system in the coming days
In the days ahead, an active low‑pressure system is not excluded, which could bring significant rain and strong winds to northern Poland.
