Warsaw will host the 34th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity on January 25th, featuring concerts, auctions, and volunteer collections.
Event Details
The 34th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will take place on Sunday, January 25th. On the PGE Narodowy stadium grounds, several bands will perform, while hundreds of volunteers will be collecting donations throughout the city. The city hall of Warsaw is also organizing auctions for WOŚP.
Starting Saturday, January 24th, a special town with attractions prepared by the foundation and this year’s WOŚP partners will be available on the PGE Narodowy grounds.
Charitable Purpose
During this year’s WOŚP campaign, funds are being raised for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in young patients under the slogan: “Healthy bellies of our children.”
From ongoing auctions, over 26.5 million złoty have already been raised for this year’s finale.
City Leadership Participation
Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, as every year, is contributing to the WOŚP Grand Finale. This year, he donated a helmet worn during visits to Warsaw’s most important urban investments, including the construction of the Bemowo metro line, the Museum of Modern Art, the Central Square, and Warsaw’s first underground tram stop at Zachodni Station.
“I am very happy that Warsaw is playing once again with the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. I’m contributing my helmet because Warsaw is changing every day,” stated Rafał Trzaskowski.
Unique Auctions and Activities
Warsaw’s deputy mayors are inviting donations to WOŚP and support for pediatric gastroenterology through online donation boxes.
Deputy Mayor Tomasz Mencina, in cooperation with Warsaw Waterworks, has joined the WOŚP auctions with an invitation for a unique “Chudy Wojtek” boat trip on the Vistula River. This is a unique opportunity to support the health of children while seeing Warsaw from the river perspective.
The 34th WOŚP Grand Finale in Warsaw includes dozens of unique auctions prepared by districts, institutions, and residents. Each part of the city is offering something unique this year.
Transport Information
During the WOŚP Finale, there will be changes in traffic and parking, and special trams will run on Sunday.
