Warsaw Attack: Turkish Citizen Detained After Stabbing

A man experiencing homelessness was injured in a late-night attack in central Warsaw on April 20th, and a Turkish citizen has been arrested.

Attack in Warsaw City Center

A man experiencing homelessness was attacked with a sharp object in central Warsaw. Police have detained a suspect, and the prosecutor’s office is overseeing the investigation.

The incident occurred around 10:00 PM on April 20th on Aleja Jana Pawła II, between Aleja Solidarności and Nowolipie Street.

Victim and Suspect Details

The victim is a Polish citizen who was reportedly attacked by a Turkish citizen, allegedly using a knife sharpener. Paramedics transported the injured man to a hospital.

The victim had a blood alcohol level of approximately 2 per mille and was subsequently taken to a sobering-up center after receiving medical attention.

Police Confirmation and Investigation

Younger Sergeant Jakub Pacyniak, Press Officer of the Warsaw I District Police Commander, confirmed the incident. Police are working to determine the exact circumstances of the attack.

Suspect’s Employment

The detained attacker is an employee of a nearby restaurant. He is currently in police custody, and the prosecutor’s office is continuing the investigation.
