Warsaw Building Fire: Black Smoke Visible Across City

A fire broke out on the facade of a building under construction on Laurowa Street in Warsaw around 1 PM, prompting a large emergency response.

Firefighters confirmed a blaze on the facade of a building under construction at Laurowa Street upon arrival.

Extent of the Fire and Response

Approximately 40-50 meters of the facade are affected by the fire. Initially, four fire crews were dispatched, with another five en route. The Warsaw City State Fire Service now reports 18 crews are involved.

Firefighters are also evacuating one person trapped in a crane on the construction site, whose escape route was blocked by the fire. Rescuing this individual is a priority.

No Injuries Reported

As of now, there are no reports of injuries. Firefighting efforts are ongoing. Black smoke from the fire was visible for kilometers and from various parts of Warsaw.

Brig. Jakub Okólski, deputy commander of the Warsaw City State Fire Service, is directing operations at the scene.
