Warsaw Court Grants Temporary Arrest in Railway Sabotage Suspects

The District Court in Warsaw has ordered temporary arrest for two men suspected of railway sabotage, paving the way for an Interpol red notice.

The District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw granted the prosecutor’s request to apply temporary arrest to Jewhenija I. and Ołeksandra K., according to PAP, cited by Interia.

Suspects Sentenced to Two Months Detention

Prosecutor Artur Kaznowski of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw said the suspects will spend two months in detention after their arrest.

Arrest Warrant and Interpol Notice Pending

The court decision is the first step toward issuing an arrest warrant for the men, followed by an international arrest warrant and potentially a red notice from Interpol.

Suspects Likely Fleeing to Belarus via Terespol

Donald Tusk informed on Tuesday, 18 November, that after carrying out the sabotage the suspects left Polish territory through the border crossing in Terespol, and are probably in Belarus.
