A train was evacuated and delays reported on multiple lines at Warsaw East Station on Monday afternoon following damage to the overhead power lines.
Overhead Line Damage Causes Delays
PKP PLK’s press office reported damage to the overhead lines, causing delays for suburban trains. Repairs are underway and expected to continue until approximately 6:00 PM.
Trains are currently operating on remaining tracks.
SKM Line Delays Exceed 30 Minutes
Warsaw Fast Urban Railway (SKM) announced that due to secondary disruptions following the SKM train failure near Warsaw East Station, S1 and S2 line trains in both directions may be delayed by more than 30 minutes.
Ticket Mutual Recognition Implemented
Koleje Mazowieckie announced mutual ticket acceptance between KM and ZTM Warsaw (trains, buses, trams, metro) in zones 1 and 2 due to the disruptions.
Passenger Evacuation on Chopin Airport-Sulejówek Miłosna Route
Passengers were evacuated from a train traveling from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Sulejówek Miłosna. The train had departed the station and was located away from the platforms.
Police halted traffic between 3:38 PM and 4:30 PM to ensure passenger safety.
